One-Day Wine Tour: Popov Winery

This tour is a true adventure for lovers of authenticity and rustic charm. After a comfortable ride, we head toward the village of Sopot, in the heart of the Tikveš wine region, home to Popov Winery — a hidden gem few have had the chance to experience.

The visit begins with a walk through the picturesque vineyards, located in one of the region’s most scenic areas, including the well-known Smolnik terroir. Guests can enjoy photo opportunities in the beautiful landscape while hearing stories about the grape varieties and the family’s philosophy — winemaking driven by quality, not quantity.

The tour continues with a visit to the large wine cellar lined with French oak barrels, where the atmosphere is both mystical and rustic. Part of the tasting takes place right there, in this intimate and authentic space, as well as in the cozy tasting room with a fireplace during winter months. Guests are treated to a selection of exceptional wines, carefully paired with a platter of local cheeses and cured meats.

Lunch follows in a traditional Macedonian style, perfectly complementing the tasting and celebrating the spirit of the local terroir.
